Charlie Appleby has faith in Dewhurst winner Pinatubo

Charlie Appleby is convinced Pinatubo will get a mile if his eponymous Dewhurst hero will bid to endure up to comparisons with the mighty Frankel.
Shamardals son left it six wins from as many starts having a second successive victory at Group One level adding to offer the Appleby using a Dewhurst success.
Appleby understands he must shine again next semester to match the exploits of this Sir Henry Cecil-trained celebrity Although Pinatubo was given a greater juvenile rating than Frankel following his triumph in the Curragh last month.
Appleby said:Pinatubo is not a flashy horse such as Frankel was, most of us know what an wonderful horse he was he had the prestige of being trained by Sir Henry Cecil.
Hes a very different horse since Frankel was keen to get on with things which left him have thatwow factor.
Pinatubo is a horse that just goes out there and can it. Hes been around Epsom, Glorious Goodwood Royal Ascot and nothing disturbs him. You cant fault him.
It is wonderful for him to be put in the identical sentence as Frankel, but he has to go out and do it again next year.
What people will be questioning is that he is not the biggest horse in the world, but he is a really neat racehorse that ignites a whole good deal of boxes.
Given the Dewhurst was finished by Pinatubo, his Derby-winning handler expects him to have no trouble stepping up in the Rowley Mile in May 2000 Guineas back to a mile at the Qipco.
He explained:William (Buick) obtained off and said straight away that the mile would not be a issue. The good thing about him, which will help him watch out it, is that he switches off so well.
We all know how long that the winter is with exciting horses, but hopefully we can put it to bed and look forward into the Guineas.
Whether he has a prep run ahead of it, which is conversation to be had in January/February time.
Along with showing that he has the ability to take care of testing conditions, it was while Pintatubo revealed a new facet to his game.
He added:My only stress going to it was as hes so laid back, would moving in a horse box 10 minutes up the street wake him up enough, as all his runs are much away, but since we saw, he was nice.
His previous two races hed won emphatically, admittedly they had been to a sounder surface, but what we saw was do it in more of a fighting manner in conditions that were going to be test for all the runners.
William had to cajole him along, but once he hit on the rising ground and got to Arizona, I was convinced he was going to pull away like hes done in all his races.
Appleby commended the role Godolphin supremo Sheikh Mohammed has played in Pinatubos success story, with picked him as a potential superstar year.
He said:I only want to emphasise how good this is for Sheikh Mohammed, because he saw this horse at the farms that time last year and chose out him and happily let him return to Moulton Paddocks.
He to have had that interest from the start with a home-bred as well as see the horse thrive is wonderful for him and the total Godolphin team
