Bulgaria vs England racism in European Qualifier: Managers have their say

Observing the fall-out from the episodes in Sofia of Monday, directors had their say on whether Gareth Southgate could have been justified in allowing his players to roam off the pitch at Sofia and have shared their perspectives with Sky Sports News.
Jurgen Klopp:We didnt talk about it, and the players did not come up with it. I thought they dealt well with this circumstance. It was like there wasnt any game after everybody spoke about it. Actually was a game, and that the response that is sensational was shown by the players . You can make them endure in the perfect way and need to demonstrate the reaction.
At the end its not important who laughs first, its important who laughs and it was obviously the England players. There was no influence on the performance and the remainder we dont need to speak [about], it is disgusting. Nobody wants to hear that and watch that.
Steven Gerrard:I was very proud. I thought they managed themselves Harry Kane revealed Gareth and immense leadership . It was disgusting, so it was a disgrace. I believed they did the perfect thing winning the game and staying and demonstrating a point like that. But I thought they handled the routine and their responsibilities out there unbelievably.
For an Englishman and an ex-player I was so pleased. Ive been in the place myself with Rhian Brewster using Liverpool U19s and I believe that the important thing at the point is to listen to the players and everything they would like to perform and respond from there.
Pep Guardiola:I believe UEFA made a step forward. The match stopped twice or three occasions. Fight with daily for this present situation. Everything we are doing or will do to help to eradicate it is welcome. The players and supervisor are not alone, everybody else is involved. Whatever we decidewe could perform.
Brendan Rodgers:I believed Gareth and his team and players were terrific. Theyve made it very clear that there is going to become a stance today. Weve learned about sanctions but weve not seen them put in position. In this society, players should never have to be subjected to this.
I was proud watching them, when I saw a bunch of young men fighting for their team-mates that were being abused. I felt proud watching it that this could be the beginning of a stance since we are trying to eliminate [it]. Hopefully, that could be the start. Its something that we cant stand for.
Frank Lampard on his own experience:I went with England in specific parts of Europe and felt what we all felt, and maybe didnt speak about enough. I think the body and the organisations need to earn a thing, I dont think players ought to really be depended on to be making steps.
The Way England dealt by it, from manager through personnel through players was something really excellent to see. Its not the end of the story however, I believe it demonstrates that were moving in the right direction and it has to continue.
Eddie Howe:Personally, I dont think Id have completed [taken players off of the pitch]. I think playing with the game and doing and demonstrating your abilities that are best is the ideal method to reply any type of opinions. I think the players wish to play with and I think that showed.
Its only my opinion but I do not think you would like to observe the match stopped and almost permit that vile insult to win, but its a large subject of conversation and everybody is going to have a different opinion, that is just my thoughts.
Roy Hodgson:I thought they were magnificent. I believed they did everything . I really dont know if anything could have been gained by these coming from the pitch. When people are working to upset you like this by racially abusing you, in some ways you can not get a better manner than England beating them like they did, but I do not believe there would have been any more publicity.
Nuno Espirito Santo:I believe in football, the institutions and governments must do everything they could to completely eliminate racism, but it is a social issue. However, with visibility and the strength of football, I believe the things we can do to stop it, I encourage. Until the moment us as individuals dont stop it, it is going to continue. I hope and truly believe together with the upcoming generations it will be .
Graham Potter:I did not see the game to be fair but pretty similar to everyone else [I believe ] its sad, really sad. Unfortunately its a society issue as much since it is a football problem but it is something that we dont need to see of course. And of course for a club are fully supportive of any effort to educate and make sure we do not need to witness those kind of occasions.
Ralph Hasenhuttl:I think its absolutely the right thing to demonstrate a very hard shoulder to get racism. If supporters reveal this habit it is something you have to be very, very hard the only means to prevent it I believe is to be as challenging as you can against countries nightclubs or teams against. Do not deny it, do not look away, look It in the eye and say,it isnt alright, we have to change it. Because its a stage where you could show this and we must be quite strict and very difficult to keep this from the stadium.
Mauricio Pochettino talking Harry Kanes behaviour as captain at Sofia:Obviously when you are on the touchline you will need to understand the players always have rights and its tough to be in their position, know how they feel when they endure abuse similar to this. That is why I will encourage my own players.
Harry managed everything I need to congratulate him. He was composed, the situation has been always under management. He demonstrated great maturity in these situations that arent always easy to manage.
Dean Smith praised Tyrone Mings for earning his England debut in these difficult circumstances:He has come back and educated, got on with things as regular and never actually said a lot about it. I can sing his praises. As soon as we go and look at gamers and speak to them we understand what theyre going to bring football-wise, however its personality that you are searching to find out, that character about. Me and JT proceeded to meet him and he impressed . Having met him, brought him here on loan and signed him we have seen him daily and it doesnt surprise me he handled the whole situation. Hes articulate, intelligent and a very great human being too.
